about the artist
Katy is a returned Peace Corps Volunteer who lives and works in Southern California. To fulfill her life-long need to create, she dedicates time to free-lance graphic design and documentary photography. Apart from art and design, Katy enjoys skiing, hiking, food markets, and traveling.
about the work
From wedding stationery and website design to photojournalism and family portraits, Katy's work reflects her appreciation for modern simplicity, interesting textures, and natural light. Incorporating hand drawn and digital elements, Katy uses a variety of mediums in her work, including Adobe Illustrator, watercolor paints, ink, pencil, photoshop, and various digital cameras. Her skills and techniques are based in years of artistic exploration and two years of training from the School of Art & Design at the University of Michigan. The overall aesthetic of Katy's work is heavily inspired by her many travels and the wonderful people she has met along the way.
